We had a wonderful experience working with Alden Castle. We got married in the Vintage Ballroom, then had our cocktail hour on the balcony, and then returned to the ballroom for dinner and our reception. (If there is no other event going on, you can have your cocktail hour in the Modern Club for a small extra fee.) We met with Michelle when we first saw the venue, and once we signed the contract we were matched up with Amanda, our event coordinator. She was the perfect mix of helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. She worked with me throughout the 6 months of planning and always made time to answer an email or have a phone call with me. I never had a sense of how many other weddings Amanda had going on in those weeks/months because she really made us feel as though we were the only couple she was working with. The day of our wedding she was cool, calm and collected and took care of everything. (Your event coordinator at Alden will be with you on the day of until late in the day/evening.) There was another wedding that evening going on in the other room (the Modern Club, their slightly smaller space) and I was very nervous when I found out about that a few months before my wedding. I had wanted to get married at Alden partly because it is such a beautiful, unique venue that doesn’t feel like a wedding factory. But on the day of, we wouldn’t have known at all that there was another wedding going on. Alden Castle is the best of both worlds because it is a stunning, unique space that is backed by a top notch staff all around. I will also note that some people might be nervous about the pricetag at Alden, but if you add up all the amazing benefits of Alden that are included- in house catering with fantastic staff; a built in event planner; chairs, ivory linens, nice silverware, glassware, etc at no extra cost (unless you want to upgrade, but we got no pressure to do so)- I think it is a great, surprisingly affordable option. Also, the food was better than any other wedding I have ever been to- something all of our guests commented on. AND you can have REAL candles! (Unusual in Boston) – Alexis G
