Alden Castle Love 1.31.15

I’m so sorry you all are still dealing with so much snow. I hope it hasn’t been making anything too difficult for you! We are obviously the luckiest people ever to have pretty much made it through our weekend without incident!

Thank you and your team for the absolute best night of my life. Well, our lives, but I will just speak to you from my perspective:)

When John and I got engaged on 11/30/13, I knew my hopes for taking a little bit of time before planning were probably out the window if we wanted a wedding in 2014. I started emailing places in Boston and some further away from the city to check availability for the fall and found a lot of venues were booked or too far away/logistical nightmares. Before we got engaged, we knew we wanted a wedding that would be logistically easy for our guests to attend. That was a top priority as we are so lucky to have so many amazing people in our lives…we wanted them all there and we wanted to make it easy. When I came across Alden Castle online, I loved the total package idea from the start: close to downtown location, the vintage look I could have only ever hoped to end up with already built in and the ease of being able to hold all parts of the wedding in the same place. I never thought we would get married in the winter, but with limited dates, it seemed like fate that we had found the perfect venue for us and I almost stopped caring when it was as long as it was going to be at Alden. I’m so happy we made that decision. It was so magical that night!!!!

I always knew I wanted to get married and have a wedding, but I was never the little girl who had a vision of her wedding or “played” wedding. I think our wedding at Alden Castle surpassed whatever dreams I did have and that I could never have imagined any night as beautiful as ours. Thank you for making my vision come true and come together. When I walked down the aisle, I simply could not believe how gorgeous it was in there. Same for the reception. Magical and just perfect.

Thank you, Cindy, for all of your help along the way. You kept me on track and your guidance helped me feel like everything would be taken care of no matter how long the list felt or how nervous I was about certain decisions. You are decisive and organized and I never had a doubt that logistics would run smoothly the night of our wedding. Thank you for pushing me when I needed it and for accepting that while most things were traditional we wanted a few little personal non-traditional parts as well. All of the little details were so beautiful. Thank you for making sure things were in their places and looked so good.

Thank you to your team and the staff at Alden Castle. I have heard so many compliments over the past two weeks about how excellent the staff was on 1/31 and as someone who appreciates good service and kindness in life, it was one of the best compliments of my life to hear that about our big day. Same goes for the food. It started that night when friends came up to us and told us it was not only the best wedding food they had ever had, but some of the best food in general. We love food so to have people be able to remember our night with great food as part of that memory ranks high on the happiness list for us. It’s a really good feeling when people are impressed with your choices and every strep of the way reaffirmed we picked the best place ever to get married. And, we agreed that the food was amazing and just as good, if not better, than our tasting. Just amazing!

I wish you well as you move on to the State Room and appreciate you sticking with me through our wedding. I know you didn’t have to do that, but it helped me feel relaxed and confident that my vision would come together. Thank you for going above and beyond!

I hope I was able to convey just how happy we were with our wedding at Alden Castle. I know our memories of our wedding will always be special and we are so grateful for your role in that.

All the best,
