For history buffs:

Plimoth Plantation Plimoth Plantation is a living history museum that’s great for kids and families. The museum offers engaging opportunities to experience the culture, environment, and interwoven stories of the Wampanoag People and Colonial English settlers during the 1600s. Permanent exhibits include a 17th century English village and the Plimoth Grist Mill on Town Brook. Plimoth Plantation’s full-scale reproduction of the Mayflower, the tall ship that brought the Pilgrims to Plymouth in 1620, is currently being restored and is due back in 2019.

Plymouth Rock Located in Pilgrim Memorial State Park, this 10-ton boulder commemorates the landing of the first Pilgrims to arrive in America and has become a monument to courage, faith, and freedom worldwide.

For fun enthusiasts:

Provincetown Called P-town by the locals, Provincetown features beautiful beaches and magnificent views of the Atlantic but is best known for its eccentric nightlife and bohemian vibe. For a little sun before your fun, take a dip in the ocean at Herring Cove Beach, which was named one of America’s Best All-Time Beaches by the Travel Channel. Climb the 225-foot tall Pilgrim Monument behind Town Hall for a bird’s eye view of town and then stroll over to Commercial Street for a bite to eat and maybe a little retail therapy. Going out on the town? From the raucous Tea Dance at Boatslip Resort to the old world charm of The Red Inn, there’s something for everyone. Just be sure to have a designated driver or Uber, because once you get to P-town, it is easy to loose track of time, keys, your name it. Also, check the P-town calendar for schedule of special weekends. Great day trip or night out trip.

Truro Vineyards + South Hollow Spirits About 10 miles north of Wellfleet Harbor, you’ll find Truro Vineyards and South Hollow Spirits, a small batch distillery specializing in rum and gin. Truro Vineyards’ handcrafted wines reflect the character of Cape Cod’s warm ocean breezes, sandy soils, and maritime climate. The distinctive terroir permeates their estate-grown varietals with intense flavors and lush characteristics. Stop in for a tasting and pick up a bottle to take home. But don’t leave yet! South Hollow Spirits is housed at the same complex and offers distillery tours and tastings. Their Dry Line Gin made with locally grown botanicals and Eastern Red Cedar juniper berries is especially exquisite!

For water sports enthusiasts:

Sailing Within walking distance of Wychmere Beach Club you’ll find Saquaqucket Harbor, a great starting point for a day on the Atlantic. Cape Sail offers 2-hour and longer charters aboard their classic cutter-rigged Southern Cross. Feel free to share in handling of the boat or just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Kayaking Paddling through one of the Cape’s rivers on a kayak is an incredible opportunity to experience our local ecology. Whether you choose to explore Swan River, Herring River, or Bass River, you’ll be treated to a variety of wildlife and beautiful scenery as you quietly glide past cedar swamps, cattails, and woodlands for close encounters with wading shorebirds and sunning turtles. For rentals and group tours check out Cape Cod Waterways or Bass River Kayaks.

For foodies:

Cape See Grille For a relaxed and romantic dinner walk along the beach from Wychmere for about 10 minutes to the Cape Sea Grille. Nestled in a restored 19th century sea captain’s home, the Cape Sea Grille offers stays true to the heart of Cape Code with fresh, local ingredients and native seafood.

Buca’s Tuscan Roadhouse Amazing any time of year, but we especially enjoy it off-season, due to the richness of traditional Northern Italian cuisine in Buca’s warm and cozy setting. In the sultry summer days, Buca’s hosts a bright yellow pop-up hot dog stand in their parking lot. The stand also sells lobster rolls but we strongly suggest the hot dogs. Made to Buca’s specifications by Massachusetts’  sausage maker, these are no ordinary street fare. Good eats and all around fun for everyone!
Sundae School Ice Cream This old-fashioned ice cream parlor, located 5 minute stroll from Wychmere, makes all of their ice cream and frozen yogurt in-house daily, in small batches, using real ingredients: pure vanilla extract, real chocolate chips, real pistachios, and fresh fruit. Recently voted #5 in the country by USA Today! We love to walk over there in the afternoon and play tiki toss in their outdoor space.
